New Wolverton Station Car Park

At last! Drove past Wolverton station on Monday (and every day as usual) and it looks like they've restarted work on the car park. A bit longer than estimated in the now closed old 'New Wolverton Station' thread http://www.railforums.co.uk/showthread.php?t=54501&highlight=wolverton&page=3 but progress none the less!

Might be ready for Christmas after all.

I checked out the official notices posted around the car-park a few weeks ago, 20/2/13, and all of them were from MK Council - not a mention of LM, Network Rail or the previous contractors. The notice mentioned two phases, and said that the new contractor is Miletree Construction.

There was no forecast completion date - and no hint of an apology, or any frustration on behalf of the public. (I've got photos if anyone's interested.)

I'm told that MK Council have now made a settlement of the legal dispute with the original contractor although I don't know the terms of the settlement. The closed off part of the car park should be finished in the next couple of weeks and then the part that is currently open will be closed and resurfaced. whole lot should be finished around mid-April.

Surface finished and lines painted on yesterday. Solitary Range Rover parked in one of the spaces today.

Apparently opened to the public this morning, as did the front door of the new station building.
