New wheel lathe at Clacton

Construction of Greater Anglia’s new wheel lathe facility in Clacton is progressing at pace through a collaboration with its delivery partner, Spencer Rail Engineering and support from the Department for Transport.
Due to open quite soon, the new wheel lathe facility at Clacton depot will be owned and run by Greater Anglia.

Will it just service GA stock or can we expect to see anything more interesting coming down the branch?

Freightliner class 90s were doing some sort of runs along the line earlier this year. I guess c2c could use it?

I wonder if it's to allow more third party use of Ilford rather than seeing anything more interesting itself. I would have thought C2C are sorted at East Ham but I could be wrong.

Good to see the continued revival of Clacton depot from the low points of the early 2000s.

Maybe there will be fewer shunts to the Freightliner yard at Ipswich? You see an occasional 720 in there, and it always seems to bugger some of the platforms up at Ipswich due to requiring two drivers on board.
