New Virgin Blackpool services

Searched for a dedicated thread for this but nothing turned up.


I was just wondering when the Euston - Blackpool North services are introduced, what will the station stops be along the way?

Also:

When are these services likely to begin?

Will they run with single class 221 Voyagers to begin with?

And how many workings per day?

I think Virgin are looking to run from Dec 13 with 5 car 221 with these departure times :

Blackpool North – London Euston

06:36 and 14:03 and will call at Kirkham & Wesham, Preston, Wigan North Western, Warrington Bank Quay, Stafford and Rugby.

The journey time from Blackpool to London will be 2 hours 57 minutes for the morning train and 2 hours 51 minutes for the afternoon departure.

The return services will leave London at 10:33 (arrive Blackpool 13:35) and 19:33 (arrive 22:18).
