New Tyne & Wear Metro stock

I travelled for the first time yesterday on the superb Sheffied Train-Tram system. Very modern, quite & clean with helpful staff. I also use the Tyne & Wear Metro system which is really showing its age. However in its defence, new rolling stock is being built, trialled & finally delivered. Of course there will be an extensive & long period of training on the new vehicles. My question is, how similar will the new T&W stock be to the excisting Sheffield Train-Tram.?
If they follow Sheffield`s example, it will be a vast, long awaited improvement.

To answer your question, the new Metro fleet is much closer to the new Merseyrail fleet than the tram-trains for Sheffield or the Valleys.
