Inbound service from where? Not as the answer would be of any consolation to you. I travel to a station with confidence when taking trips at such an early hour, not any more!

It was meant to be from Birmingham to Bangor there were 2 excuses for cancellation ,1 shortage of train crew 2 late arrival of inbound service ,got to get a train to Crewe hopefully get something from there this is unacceptable my partner is disabled and has to use mobility scooter so we don’t really want to have to keep changing

It's good that you've managed to get onto a train to your destination, albeit with some inconvenience.

These days if I'm making a journey with crucial timings or connections, I'm on RTT an hour or so before departure (or from when I wake up if it's an early start), looking for what's happening not only to my train but to its predecessors. Sometimes that can give me advance warning to go for an earlier train, or even switch to the bus.

I hope the rest of your trip is less fraught.

Presumably no Driver, as the empty working (5D80) from Oxley Depot which forms the train from Birmingham New Street (1D80) was cancelled with the code TG; In which case I would have thought the cancellation code for 1D80 would also have been TG, rather than the reactionary delay code YI, late arrival of inbound service; The inbound service did not arrive at all!

Real time trains suggests the inbound Empty Carriage Stock movement was affected by issue with train crew https://www.realtimetrains.co.uk/se...8/0200-0159?stp=WVS&show=all&order=wtt&toc=VT

YI is the most appropriate code to use, as this remains a reactionary delay/cancellation, and means it is coded to the same incident as the original cancellation. It just means there is one incident with two cancellations rather than two separate incidents.
