(didn't even have a ticket check!)
I've always found TPE to be very hot on checking tickets.

I noticed a few weeks ago the Conductor on my very busy Edinburgh bound 397 upon leaving Manchester Oxford Road (next stop Preston) despatched from the rear as normal, then immediately walked to First Class to start his full ticket check in First Class, instead of just simply starting from the rear and gradually making his way towards the front.

Actually just thinking about it even on the Durham - Huddersfield leg I'd been given breakfast, coffee and a beer before having my ticket checked. I actually think starting a ticket check in 1st is a good idea.

I was thinking about how eggs benedict tends to be served hot (or at least fairly warm, to save any pedantry), and they have a tendency to nuke things.
Ah apologies. Yes I think they may be a bit on the bouncy side

I travelled 1st with TPE last Friday on the 11:18 Durham - Huddersfield and was offered a choice from both the breakfast and rest of day menus. I opted for the Transpennine Breakfast (trying to cut the bacon with the wooden cutlery was certainly an experience!)

Got served 2 different beers but much preferred the Northern Monk to be honest...

Had you eaten half the black pudding in the picture or did you just get half a slice ?

Used to look a lot better than that last time I had one with the Cumberland Coiled Sausage filling the plate up !!
