I think it's strange there's no mention of Bacon in the description of the Regional Breakfast on the menu.

Do you know if it's offered at weekends as well? I see there's a separate weekend menu for after 11:00 a.m, but not Breakfast.

Same Breakfast menu should be available daily.

There are apparently plans to change the seat coverings to a more durable material that doesn't stain so easily and is easier to clean.

It will be interesting to see what type they go for, possibly a Scotrail type of material or maybe just an LNER seat in blue. We will find out eventually…

Presumably just moquette rather than flat cloth.

Would anyone know what you are entitled to/get offered on a pre-11am WCML service?

Is it just breakfast + drinks or is it breakfast + snacks + about 2 rounds of drinks or is completely variable? TPE don't really explain it clearly.

In my experience last week you'd get breakfast and something out of the snack box as well as drinks. They're really attentive.

I'm off to Liverpool from Glasgow in a couple of weeks 1204 departure.

Will this service qualify for the West Coast Kitchen "full works" ?

Last year on the same service it was "tea and biscuits" plus with no Alcohol.

Yes, rest of day menu including alcohol should be offered plus a snack I understand.

Excellent, for once an Operator has improved their First Class Offering rather than diminishing it

Don't even begrudge having to pay £40 for my ticket rather than 20 odd last year if the service is delivered as advertised.

Could be demand the increase in price for people heading to Liverpool v West Ham like me, or I missed the cheapest tier of Advances.

When I went First Class on the 12:04 from Glasgow (as far as Preston) a few weeks ago, they offered some hot options soon after we left Glasgow, but the Host explained that they were receiving a top up delivery of food at Carlisle.

Annoyingly my "Breakfast" on the 08:58 from Preston to Glasgow turned into a Sausage Roll. It was very tasty indeed, but not what I'd want to eat for my breakfast.

I agree that the TPE First Class Menu on the West Coast Mainline is very good, but both ways, despite the train on the way up being around half full and the return from Glasgow being much quieter, with only half a dozen people onboard in First Class, we had supply issues. I would have been ok with it on the way up if it was simply a case of waiting until after Carlisle for breakfast.

I believe Carlisle is the main service centre on the way down as it’s where all the top ups usually happen. Glasgow does have one but I’m not sure if they stock hot food (Edinburgh does).

I believe it’s only the Glasgow trains in the morning (0452, 0711 and 0745) that have no hot food until Carlisle.

Glasgow doesn’t have hot food available on the first 3 services departing there. The first that should is the 0909. Carlisle and Manchester provide the food as the rule, Edinburgh and Liverpool can also provide some but are not the main service centres

As for what is offered and when it depends on numbers on board and the stocks available. It doesn’t necessarily reflect passenger loadings which can lead to not enough food on occasion, or at least not enough of a desired choice especially with such a wide ranging menu

The alcohol offer should be as the menu - G&T, TPE Pennine Ale or any of the 4 wines. Whiskey gin and vodka are available on the standard class trolley to purchase should customers wish

At present with the Trainline/TOC system double booking seats there’s no reservations on TPE, on a 397 there are 2 single seats at either end of the coach. One is the companion seat for a wheelchair space however so may need to be given up as required

Ta noticed that "any free seat" - last time the 1203 wasn't that busy in 1st Class - believe it originates in Glasgow ?

Manchester Piccadilly is considered the main centre and Carlisle is a very recent addition to the catering provision network. Glasgow can't supply hot food as it doesn't have refrigerated storage.

Well not a problem I had a "4" to myself all the way from Glasgow to Liverpool.

Sampled the "Haggis Pasta" , Sausage Roll and other snacks washed down with Coffee and Rose Wine (x4 Mini Bottles)

it's great there is one attendant looking after 10-15 people in one carriage.

A huge improvement on last years offerings on the same journey.

Should be, they specifically state that catering is available on the Anglo-Scottish route 0422-2330.

I assume the core catering hours refers to the standard offering outside the Anglo-Scottish services, with their enhanced service.

I found the catering on the South Transpennine Route to be very disappointing. Nothing until Manchester Piccadilly then a trolley with drink and nibbles which got off at Sheffield. Guess they shuttle between the two all day. At least the Peter Stringfellow-esque white leather seats were comfortable

All services between Glasgow/Edinburgh and Manchester Airport via the West Coast have ‘West Coast Kitchen’, that includes the 802 ones.
