Hi All, the second time of me typing this - my computer decided that it would restart the web browser for me right at the very end.

I visited Norwich station (my local) to buy a ticket in advance of the date of travel. I noted that a TVM had been placed next to the pre existing TVM's next to the ticket office (link to NRE Stations Made Easy - To the right of the man in this picture.)

It is blue in colour with a low accessible screen, branded 'Ticket Collection' it only deals with TOD Collections therefore it has a card slot but not a chip and pin pad. I went back today with a TOD to collect to try it out - When I touched the screen it immediately asked to insert payment card, it read then directed me to remove. It then took a while to contact the booking system before prompting me to enter the reference number, this is probably because I have numerous TODs to collect, the person infront did not have to enter the ref.

It then the tickets using two printers, which today were loaded with different stocks *see below if you are interested*.

On the front, under the screen is a covered up circle, which I assume is where an oyster pad has been / can be put. It definitely isn't brand new.

Has anywhere else on the NXEA network received these TVMs?

TP

* Ticket stocks are: RSPNo. 9599 (4MAG 511 9 8 7 6 5 4 3 2) and RSPNo. 9499 (2MAG 111 9 8 7 6 5)

Not unusual these days for TVM cases to have a blanking plate where a smartcard reader could go if required. Saves having to cut holes in them later.

9599 is the "normal" pre-cut common stock and 9499 is the three fold stock that Tribute uses, so I'd guess the machine in question has one Newbury printer and one Swecoin, or similar.

Cheers,

Barry

I have the feeling that they are both the same printers however as Norwich doesn't currently have any other need for 9599 they had limited supplies someone had to pull apart the 9499 because they have marks as if they have been pulled and not the straight cut. The print on all tickets is the same. (Just me using my imagination but it is a possibility ;) )

It's entirely plausible, given they'll have loads of 9499 for Tribute (assuming they're still using it), and the Scheidt & Bachmann TVMs use RSP 9399 stock.
