New Signal Berth near Chichester?

[trainmania100]

Looking at Opentraintimes I have seen a new "siding" berth between chichester and barnham, signal 302

Never seen it on the map before, are there plans to reinstate a siding at Chirchill freight solutions? (50.832349985760985, -0.755923182354033)

I think the sidings for CC302 signal are actually here: https://www.google.com/maps/place/5...5!1s0x0:0x0!7e2!8m2!3d50.8325397!4d-0.7393357
beyond Chichester Bypass at the old quarry pit.

Everything I've seen shows the sidings as Out of Use, so I wouldn't get too excited about any potential new freight. It's probably more to do with OTT being able to access more data or just generally being updated than any new traffic.

The 2002 edition of Volume 5 of the Quail maps shows the siding at Drayton as padlocked and out of use. There is nothing closer to Chichester.

Ok cheers for the info, being too hopeful

I’m fairly certain that that berth has been on the Chichester panel since forever..

Reason I took the picture was the non-standard colour of FZ track.

The yellow sticker on the left of the picture reads "From 05/07/2007, CC501 points have
been disconnected and signed out of use pending abolition"

So the siding has been defunct for the best part of 14 years!

There was only ever a foot or so of rail past CC302 signal on the siding when I started travelling past regularly on my way to secondary school in Chichester in 2003, it had clearly been out of use for some time before then.
