How many of the peak H&C trains are now S7 stock?

I haven't seen any C stock for a while, so are they all now S7?

Still 9 diagrams; I was out yesterday and observed every diagram plus most of the Circle ones and a handful of Wimblewares; I'll update the C stock formations thread tonight.

I imagine people being very grateful to get on air conditioned stock in the current weather...

No it is crap compared to say the AC on LOROL trains (similar stock)

Really? I've recently been on the H&C bad waited for an S7 as they are much poker. Perhaps the 378's temperature is set lower as they expect mod people highly packed in?

Wouldn't say the S stock AC is crap tho.

I've been trying to work it into my commute (Bow Rd <-> Shepherd's Bush) by getting the H&C to Wood Lane if an S stock turns up. In the morning I usually manage to get one, but on the way home (e.g. tonight) there was a run of C-stocks :(

The air con definitely doesn't go as cold as the 378s, and if anything I'd say it's warmer in the tunnelled sections. Whether that's due to there being less ventilation, or just due to more passengers, I'm not sure, but it doesn't seem as cold.

Interestingly last week I had occasion to go out on the Met and the S8 I had seemed much cooler than the S7s, despite being ostensibly the same train.

In your opinion. I am always glad when an S7 turns up instead of a C on the C&H line, as it's much cooler. The fact that the doors are frequently opening, as well as the trains sitting in the sun at Hammersmith and Barking does not help, so I think the air cooling system does very well in the circumstances.

Same here. Considering the very frequent stops, I think the Air conditioning is quite good. It's never going to be super cold when doors are opening every few minutes.

I look forward to the day I can stop cramming into a packed and sweaty D Stock train!

As from Sunday 28 July S7s may be seen running empty around the Circle Line for 'driver confidence handling' at certain times.

1140-1520; 2011-2246 (edit - times added)

Will these be early morning/late night workings? I can imagine it would be a nightmare to try and timetable extra Circle line trains over all the various flat junctions during the daytime.

Spotted some S stock in Circle and District land yesterday; I can't remember exactly where but I was on a train from Monument to Embankment so it must have been somewhere between there ;)

I didn't see whether it was working a central or district train, or whether there was anyone in it (it was quite late at night so certainly wasn't packed!)

Auto-correct attempt or suchwise I presume, you must have meant Circle as before - I certainly wouldn't want to send an S Stock down the Central ;)

Er, yes. Don't think that was autocorrect, just brain failure ;)

S7s are not yet approved to operate in passenger service via Victoria.

S7 21351/52 ran around Circle 0950-1320 today. (HMS-via OR Ald/Vict-MGT3-via IR Vict/Ald-HMS)

Probably platform monitors and mirrors for OPO. Been a while since I've been in Lindon but don't know if S stock stop boards are up yet either

What's the specific problem with this section that prevents it? (Or am I taking what you said too literally?)

Probably platform monitors and mirrors for OPO. Been a while since I've been in London but don't know if S stock stop boards are up yet either
Just a few minor finishing details, such as removal of platform barriers at some stations, resiting of a signal at Mansion House etc. S7s use in cab monitors, the platform mounted equipment has been moved where required, although some will obstruct the opening of some S7 doors until the last C/D Stock are withdrawn. The new green S7 chevrons are now fitted to all available stations.

The larger issue holding back the squadron introduction of more S7s is the power supply upgrade. (Just look around Edgware Road and High Street to see the new red 11kv/22kv cables waiting to be connected).

Would you know if/when this will next happen? :)
As from yesterday empty test paths on each Circle are 'available' in off-peak hours and evenings, with no guarantee these will run each day. Passenger operation still expected end-of August, early Sept.

Does anyone know whether the plan is to fully replace H&C stock then move on to Circle, then WimbleWare and finally the D stock or will things get a little random? Also, I see from the S7 delivery tracking spreadsheet thing that there've been 25 S7s delivered, of which 1 is due to enter service and 3 are currently running around the Met line as S7+1. How many trains are required to operate the peak service pattern on each of the H&C, Circle and WimbleWare routes?

Peak requirement:
H&C 16 (14 off-peak)
Circle 16
WIM-ERd 8.

The last H&C Cs should go when the first S7 get onto the Circle.
4 for scrap in each Sept and Oct.

When it comes to replacing the D-Stock, will particular routes be done at a time, or will the whole system be cleared for their use first and then it'll be (from a passenger perspective) more or less random?

I'd imagine the latter: I've been on several trains recently that have had their destination changed as they approach Earl's Court for operational reasons, if the S7s could only go to Wimbledon that could cause problems

S stock at Ealing Broadway by LRO_1, on Flickr

As the S stock has already been to Ealing I'd imagine that they could be the first district 'main line' services. And as Ealing services run to Tower Hill (?) by which time the circle line S7s will be running Id imagine this could be a strong contender

S7s have now ventured to all parts of the District under testing.

Edgware Rd-Parsons Green/Olympia/West Ken is almost complete.
Parsons Green-Wimbledon is nearing completion.
Work is now starting Becontree-Upminster, Barons Ct-Ealing/Richmond, although Richmond may have be the last to be done.

Ealing trains run to Upminster off-peak.
