New red ones - Latest DB repaints

90019 is next for Toton paint shop.

Pardon my ignorance but what are these please?

Googled and now I know but why are they being painted red.

They are a class 60 and a class 90 that have been (or are about to be) repainted into DB Schenker red.

Correct, its 90018 which has gone to Toton.

I don't think 60071 has been added to the overhaul programme has it? I've heard it's been stopped due to poor wheel sets.

90018 has now left the paintshop in DB red, it actually entered the paintshop on saturday not monday.

Still was in EWS colours two days, after being rescued near Toton by 08632. I didn't see it but theres a photo on the WNXX latest news site.

It'll be nice to see 60001 in this livery, looking smarter than I last saw it and overhauled. Should be out end of May. Can't remember which one is due out next (might be 60062)

Not quite on topic, but I'm curious to know what parameters are being used to decide which loco's are worthy of refurbishment?

90036 moved to Toton for a repaint according to wnxx.com - also showing as 'At Toton on maintenance' on Class 90 loco group website. Obviously it would not go there for routine maintenance so it looks like it's true.

Gutted, never saw it in grey and was hoping it'd be on one of the ECML sleeper diverts on Sunday nights. No chance of that now!
