New Mills stations

How far apart are the 2 New Mills stations are they in walking distance or is there a bus service.

I think they're about 1 mile apart. However, like the rest of North West Derbyshire you'll find it's not very flat so some people may not find it an easy walk.

Just under a mile, allow approx 20 minutes if walking.

There is a bus service that goes part way between the two stations, number 62.

Near to New Mills Central station is the Millenium Walkway, which can be quite an experiance to use after a day of heavy rain. The noise of the river is very loud at those times.

New Mills bus station is very near to that area. It might only have two shelters, but offers services to quite a few destinations.

Its about a 12-15 minute walk max. 0.8 miles. New Mills is quite a simple place, straight out of Newtown station car park, down the hill, turn left up and over Union Road bridge, left at the roundabout and down to Central.

Only takes me 15 mins walk from New Mills AFC to the main A6 for a bus.

Even quicker if you walk down the road from Newtown, turn left down Wirksmoor Road (just after the big sweet factory). Carry on down past the playing fields then past the mill and down the steps. Over the old bridge and up to Central. Doable in 10 mins that way.
