I was walking through Birmingham this morning, and caught sight of the last Mk3 and rear loco on 1V44 before it went behind a building, and I'm almost 100% certain it wasn't the XC livery I always see when I catch their HST services - are they loaning a set today, or have they re-liveried their HSTs? Thanks.

It's supposedly XC03, but I'd suggest if you're saying it definitely wasn't an XC power car on the back then it's most likely been swapped out on shed to whatever they had available due to a fault. There was a power car ended up in some grief yesterday at Bristol, apparently, but I don't know if it was the same unit - could be related?

1V44 starts at Leeds, so would have been an EMT power car (Neville Hill) if anything - has happened a few times in the last few years.
However, I did see it go past (from a distance) and it looked as if they were both XC powe cars as normal.

43301 had the door issue yesterday, and was swapped with 43304 on EC, currently running 1E63 to Leeds, then NL
