What are the opinions of the new NX (EC and EA) liveries.

Whilst I won't miss the 'ONE' name which always seemed pretty daft, I think it's a shame that their replacing the blue / rainbow livery (which I thought was quite nice) with the rather drab grey / white NX house colours. Similarly will miss the smart GNER Blue & Red.

Also what are views of EMT and London Midland liveries ?

Not sure I like EMTs replacement of MMLs smart blue / silver.

I think LM looks better than Silverlink did, but can't help thinking they've played it a bit 'safe' with the black, silver and green. Would have been nice to have had a maroon / cream LMS style but hey, can't have everything.

NXEC looks wonderful IMHO. The photos don't do it justice. I've seen one only once, and i was impressed with how it looks, and it definately beats the GNER livery. I look forward to the appliation on Mk. IV stock, where the GNER livery doesn't work too well for me; it was better on the HSTs.

I also like LM's choice, but haven't seen it in person (yet).

Have you seen the Natex HST? It is ablsolutely filthy, the dirt showing up every dent and ripple. We all thought that gloss black would be bad but its no where near!

Richard Bowker did say that there would be investment to ensure that there was a wash for each set every night.

That isnt going to happen with the stock on NXEA - not all stock stables at a place where it's possible.

Then if water usage restrictions kick in......

Haven't seen a NXEC fully painted, only with the white stripe but have to say even that ruins it for me. IMO GNER's livery was one of the best and made their stock used to look quite like some form of stealth jet flying past.

Thats a good question actualy, Can they fit the HST's or 91s into the washers at Leeds Nevvile Hill? because it looks like it's just for the WY Electric Sets, although I could be mistaken, but the overun track doesn't look long enough for a IC225 set...
