New Leeds-Carlisle timetable changes

Hi All. As most of you know the morning commuter train from Kirkby Stephen now starts from Leeds at 05:55 and the morning commuter train from Ribblehead now starts from Carlisle at 05:58. What was the reason for these changes? I'm not aware of any consumer demand for these early morning services to run the full length of the route. It is good news though as it opens up new opportunities!
