What do people think of the new(ish) layout on NRE?

I find it less convenient. Because, if I want a return journey I am now forced to select an outward journey and then go to the next page to see the return journey. If, like today, I want to plan a period of time in a destination, say 4 hours in Manchester, then I have to keep switching between windows.

IMHO the old system was better, both out and return on the same page. Plus the new 'graphics' takes up more room. A closely packed list is more useful in these circumstances imho.

Another minor gripe. If you enter a date in the future for your outward journey the system doesn't automatically change the date of the return journey to that future date - like many airline systems do.

Anyone else prefer the old system? Or is it just me?

Can anyone suggest a better online site to search for journeys?

It seems that a new National Rail website is starting to roll out, some pages such as https://www.nationalrail.co.uk/on-the-train/ have changed over to the new design. As Great British Railways (GBR) is meant to replace the National Rail and TOC sites I thought we might have to wait for that but...
