A lot easier to use and more nicely presented than the old one. There aren't that many changes, but the (new?) live maps are quite useful. I also note they have removed the South Wexford line stations from station info pages and journey planners, over a year after they shut. Unlike some recent new websites, all information is retained. Now let's just hope NIR follow suit and redo their website, which is frankly one of the worst railway-related websites around!

Indeed, it is a big improvement on what was there before.

I particularly like the level crossing handbook.

A copy of this sent to every Occupation/Accommodation crossing principle user by Regsitered post and signed for (especially in Wales it would appear) would certainly assist in stopping a lot of problems and could then be used as Prosecution evidence against the registered user (who legally is responsible for the conduct of all users) in the event of any incident/accident occurring.

The whole Translink family of sites are possibly the worst family of public transport sites I've ever tried to use. It's bad enough for me trying to use the bus maps and I live here, goodness knows how a tourist would work it out?

As for the journey planner, again, it's pathetic. If I select a journey by train, from Belfast to anywhere, it spits out dozens of starting points and includes timings for getting to Belfast Central on foot, as well as bus connections. Even the naming conventions for the stations is absurd.

There was however, great fanfare surrounding the launch of NIR's latest innovation this week, Mlink http://www.translink.co.uk/mlink a ticket app. Great idea which would be made even better if they also included the use of daily tickets on it instead of the 3 day, weekly and monthly options currently available. It's a step in the right direction.

Since yesterday (Mon 16th) the new Iarnród Éireann (Irish Rail) website is now the only one (the "old one" was running side by side with the new one for a number of weeks and had a link to the new one).

Have to say the new site is a big improvement on the old one. Bus Éireann and Dublin Bus upgraded their sites a while ago and the IÉ one was really lagging behind. The one thing it could do with is a fares calculator; Bus Éireann have one.
