New Dumfries Lift oddity

I must congratulate ScotRail on providing an accessible overbridge at Dumfries, however having used it this week for luggage I couldn't help noticing an oddity with the level labelling in both lifts:

Now, maybe the platforms have been lowered or the surrounding car parks lowered since the lifts were installed (I am being sarcastic) but certainly this week, I can confirm that both remaining platforms were firmly at street/station car park level....

Possibly a second-hand lift? ScotRail maybe deserve further congratulations for taking recycling to new levels. (Even if they're the wrong levels...)

I'd have thought the most likely explanation is that a sub-contractor (or more likely a sub- sub- sub-contractor) has supplied the wrong fascia panel, being the version intended for a subway equipped station rather than a footbridge equipped station. It should be a simple fix.

But will likely cost thousands of pounds and take a year or more.

Not that I'm cynical you understand.

Failing that I have a Sharpie you can borrow.
And having been in the lift industry for many years, I can tell you it wouldn't be the first time.

Anyway, I have reported this to ScotRail who have taken it on board and hopefully it doesn’t result in a closure to mitigate the risk of someone getting confused.

Are the voice announcements correct ("Bridge" and "Platform Level") or do they follow the same mistake as the level select buttons?

If the latter, I'd definitely suggest that a review of the Commissioning Procedure (or the person who signed off the test results) is in order!

The braille simply says Up and Down

We used to set the alarm system up to immediately sound the local alarm on activation but delay dialing out for a second or two. It does cut down the number of inadvertent remote alarm calls.
I noticed our local lifts at Horsham Station have the extra alarm presses in the skirting boards which is handy if you've taken a fall.
