I would imagine many, if not most, are. Due to the continuing contraction in bus services. Not a recent phenomena either. A larger depot may occur if a number of depots are merged into a single location.

Continuing your theme Crosville / Midland Red / Arriva Crewe moved to the new D & G site near the railway station from the old bus station. First Potteries had a Crewe location which became an outstation at the D & G depot.

PMT / First Potteries had multiple depots. Their current single site at Adderley Green (assuming Crackley out-station did close) may be larger than a single one of those, especially in their latter years, but overall the bus count will be lower.

National express Wandsworth depot reduced to just a few drivers signing on at Sammies at Victoria coach station (arrivals).

First Leicester (and Leicester CityBus before them) were previously based at the old Abbey Park Road tram depot moved to a smaller site on nearby Abbey Lane in May 2007.

The former site is becoming a housing development after laying derelict for some years.

When did that change? Recently?

What has happened to the routes that were ran out of Wandsworth?
It closed fully only a few weeks ago, however it stopped being a true white coach base in May. Drivers made redundant. Routes went to Jason Edwards Travel mainly and various others. The Stansted A services are run from Victoria.

Stretching the definition, but Fulwell tram depot was divided into two parts:
  • The Eastern end (accessed from Stanley Road) is Transport UK West London's Twickenham Garage (TF) and home to 129 vehicles.
  • The Western end (accessed from Wellington Road) is First's London United Busways Fulwell Garage (FW) and home to to 124 vehicles.
In tram days, it the main depot had 20 tracks and access from both ends.
