I understand the first of the new batch of Croydon trams is at the depot, anyone know when they start testing them out on the streets?

Well, according to this article posted on January 12th it should be unveiled in the next couple of weeks and it should hit passenger service short after that.

I have some good memories of this tram. I took it to work from South Norwood to Beckenham everyday. But I noticed these have air con while I thought that Tramlink didn't want air con because the cool air would disappear as soon as the doors open. Why the sudden swing in another direction?

Putting up blinds either sides of the door entrances minimises the effect on temp of the door openings, though it becomes an issue with wheelchair maneouvering space.
