Hi guys

I'm seriously thinking of purchasing train sim 2012 or 2013.

However I've never played PC games before (and I only own a laptop for uni) and I'm not sure what sort of PC and add-ons I would need to buy to run TS 2012/2013, so was wondering if someone would provide me with an idea of what I'd need to buy and the rough cost.

Many thanks for any advice

Since the update to TS2013, my laptop runs better than ever (still on min graphics) even so much as I can play WCML North for the first time ever!

I have an Intel Core 2 Duo 2GHz, 2GB RAM and integrated graphics. Also it is 5 years old. So all in all, not bad going.

WCML North and Portsmouth Direct line are a couple of the more demanding routes that I have

It's probably worth listing what specs you already have, we can then establish whether it is of any use or not.

OS, Graphics, RAM, Processor etc.

It's not looking good if you only have an integrated graphics chip. You need a dedicated graphics card to be honest.

Lancaster, Welcome to the train sim drivering.
Your laptop is quite ok to run Railworks, I have quite a few add-ons, westcoast mainline, london to Brighton, and more.
My opinion is, Go for it and give it a go.
Good luck.
