Yes- in the timetables the loco-hauled services are "Mainline" and "Silver".

Don't you believe the '4th' on the front page?
Sorry, I posted that in a rush without checking if there was a date on the timetable.

Getting carried away with the imminent new timetable, there's still a week of the old between the works finishing and the new.

Thanks. So, just to double check, the trains I quoted from SprinterGuy should be running (with ex-WSMR stock) from Aug 31st to Sep 2nd then?

Interesting! Chiltern publicity elsewhere is mow saying £10 for those, this won't last long however, if its shown as free in the printed TT

Final formations of the Chiltern Mk3 rolling stock

Set AL01
82301, 10208, 12069, 12048, 12014, 12038
Set AL02
823xx, 12094, 12124, 12043, 11029, 1xxxx, 1xxxx
Set AL03
82303, 10230, 12173, 12117, 12145, 12059
Set AL04
82304, 10236, 12131, 12072, 12053, 11040
Set AL05
82305, 10255, 12127, 12175, 12169, 12174

So far AL01 is waiting for the return of 82301. Set AL02 is still waiting for 2 extra coaches to arrive from Willesden TMD and also a DVT. Set 3 now has all of the external mainline decals applied and is currently having the WiFi modification completed. Set AL04 is currently at Wabtec Doncaster having powered door fitted and should return in the full Chiltern Mainline livery. Set AL05 now has all of the Mainline decals applied and like set AL03 is currently having the WiFi modification completed. We also have 1 DVT at Brush in Loughborough having a generator set fitted to supply ETH power.

From what i have been led to beleive. WiFi will be installed throughout the whole train as each set goes to works. The idea of having only coach A & B at the moment is just a reliablity issue. When WSMR were using the coaches we were having quite a few faults reported with the WiFi not working past coach B.

Agreed. But those coaches won't all be out of works with plug doors before the OLympics, and maybe later...

Is the plan currently only for 5 sets as listed above or will there be more sets in the future?

Will set AL02 (or a formation somewhat like it) still be used once all fitted out with plug doors etc? It's anomolous with respect to the others.

The blue DVT 82302 has appeared at Aylesbury Depot this week along with 67018 and a coach or two. It must have come via Claydon.

I think 5 sets is all we need at the moment. Whether there are any increases planned for the future, who knows....

67018 together with two Mk. 3 coaches and DVT 82302 worked as 5Z67 on Monday 22nd August from Willesden TMD to Banbury. I don't know the identity of either of the coaches, but presumably this move was to replace other coaches in set AL02. The train ran via the WCML and reversal at Coventry to reach Banbury, but what has happened since then I don't know...

Apparently it is due to move from Aylesbury to Wembley on Sunday if a path is available.

I was at Snow Hill yesterday at 5pm ish, and there was a 67 with a single Mainline business class coach on platform 3 - although they were not actually coupled together (close enough to be coupled though).

Anyone know the story behind that?

It was moved north from Wembley LMD on Sunday coupled to the front of set AL03. It was taken to Birmingham for the launch of Mainline on Monday for the press and the great and the good to have a look around.

That must be in with a shout for the most inconsistent train in terms of liveries ever to run in the UK.
