My car is back in to the garage today as the heating function isn't working as expected.

Are there any new (last two years) buses that are operating on routes that I could have a trip on? I've travelled on the Street Decks with First but haven't yet had the opportunity to check out the Stourton P&R. I've got a disabled pass so fare-wise doesn't really matter.

If you're heading over to York, there's some new Optare Metrodecker EVs on the number 4 route now. As many as 4 out of the 5 boards on the route have been electric recently, although 2 or 3 is more common. Most of them are in the new dark blue livery, but with "York" branding rather than Park&Ride. Gives the opportunity to travel a full route on an EV, without having to pay the Park&Ride tax to get back from the Park&Ride site with a disabled person's pass! ;)

There appear to be rumours amongst some of the bus enthusiasts that there are plans to have a rejig of the Arriva fleets in the Castleford and Wakefield areas to make way for either all-electric or more hybrids similar to the ones that were sent to Wakefield from the north east.

Is there any truth or is it just that - rumours?

The only other hybrids like the ones from Arriva NE are the 55 examples in Merseyside (11 came from Maidstone 2 or 3 years back....), unless you count the HV class with Arriva London.....

There's a significant ZEBRA (Zero Emission Bus Regional Areas scheme) bid in from WYCA (West Yorkshire Combined Authority) that includes a large number of Arriva vehicles (around 50 or so, as I recall), all covering routes in that area. We're unlikely to know the results of that and the other Phase 2 bids until the new year, though.
