The local taxi firm, Avacab, will be launching the Leyland Circular bus route later this year. I'm unable to find an official source other than this Facebook post from someone who claims to be one of the people behind this venture; granted I've not looked very hard.

If this is true then it's a brilliant route for the town, and serves some areas that haven't seen bus services since Fishwick's went under last October. Hopefully it is priced competitively and is well used and we see a local company provide a useful public service to the town's residents; I know their taxi service is very highly commended.

EDIT: Sorry about the picture size, I don't know how to make it smaller. :(

Well, it's started operating with this bus running a 40 minute frequency on this route.

They're going with a flat fare of £2 single, £3.50 return, (child/student: £1 single, £1.80 return), £4.50 day and £12 weekly.

MP56BUS is apparently a BMC Hawk 900, and when new, was apparently the first of its type in the country, starting out as a demonstrator with Martin Perry of Bromyard Omnibus (presumably the derivation of the 'MP' plate).. subsequently passing through various hands including Carousel, and Silverdale of Airdrie... and is shown on the AvaCoach website as their 27-seater.. (sorry, can't post links on this phone!)..

It was originally registered as BX56XAA and the MP56 plate is probably a private plate...
