Went to St Pancras this morning on the 08:13 ex Ashford International. On approach to St P, apart from the usual safety and security bits the OBM (On board manager) said the following.
"On arrival will customers please exit the train in a prompt and orderly fashion as the doors will lock out 90seconds after arrival".
I stopped and watched and needless to say the doors remained open.
Has anyone else heard this or is this just once again someone at Southeastern making it up as they go along?

Or maybe its to make sure that the passengers actually get off the bloody train quickly so that the turnaround cleaners can get on and do their work uninterrupted before it either leaves ECS or becomes another service

But don't the doors on a lot of units (and I don't know about the class 395s so I man not be correct) close 90 seconds or so after they've been opened if only to stop it getting too cold inside the train. Maybe that's what he meant.

Perhaps unit needed to be moved to Temple Mills. You do tend to get those not in a hurry still sitting there sending emails or on the phone. They do need a chop-chop sometimes.

OK fine, but why not on other morning peak arrivals at St Pancras. Is it only that two trains are considered a security risk ???:roll:

Well they are the only services that stable between the peaks at Temple Mills Eurostar aren't they?

It follows that additional security checks will be made before departure.
