New aircraft orders by British Airways

This morning, British Airways announced two new aircraft orders.

One is for 12 Airbus A380 aircraft, the other for 24 Boeing 787 'Dreamliner' aircraft.

The value of these orders is in the region of £4 billion.

Wonder what routes they will use them on? I expect the 380s will replace 747s on some of the buisier Heathrow longhaul routes. The 24 787s seem likely to replace the 21 767s in the fleet, and some of the 757s. I expect the rest of the 757s will eventually be replaced by A32Xs, or possibly more 787s (there is no direct replacement for the 757-200 in the Boeing range, the options are the 787-300 which I presume BA are going for, or the 737-900ER).

YAYAYAYAYAYAYAY!!!! FINALLY !!!!! , A380s , 787s , and working alongside the favourite 747s (new-er ones , old ones will be withdrawn) , and a small amount of 767s HOORAY!!!!!!!.

Thats what I think , read it in the BA news paper , but about the 767s and 747s , no idea , 777s will stay.

Well, BA have finally opted for the double decker plane. It'll be ionteresting to see how they configure them (mostly economy, a lot of FC?). The 787s will be good as well, but I'd have liked to see more of them personally.

We'll probably know a bit more about the 787 in due course, but I'm sure the A380 will work well for them.

I flew to Ibiza in the 70's and it seemed to take ages.Was I flown by the Wright brothers?

Well the inside of a 747 is longer then the wright brouthers first flight , I suppose you will get a 747-474 New extended range ones. Although I know BA are the best...........
