Neville hill open day 13 sept?

i went very early so got lots of shots when it was quiet, i thought it was brilliant how northern had displayed a wide range of units including the 333 and 144 lifted from their bogies.
the class 40 sounding lovely and looked great, the deltic was ace, i was sat in the cab talking to martin walker for 30 minutes, then the 37 was ace, i climbed up into the cab and the owner let me power her up to throttle, what a sound that mirrlees engine produces, the cab also vibrates quite a lot.
the emt shed was good, also odd to see one of their 158 fleet there, i liked the hst which was part through refurb

It was a shame that I didn't go.
I think that Nevillie Hill Depot should an open day every year. There should be a competition from East Midlands Trains and Northern Rail people who have won the competition could win free tickets to Leeds and the entrance tickets. There should be a EMT speical from London St Pancras to Leeds in the morning and coming back in the afternoon. There should be transport from Leeds to the Depot or is it near Leeds station?.
During the open day people should be allowed to have a look in train units, stalls, refreshments and many other things.
I hope this happens.

I thought it brilliant.
I've been past so many times on the train going from Cross Gates to Leeds but now to actually say "I've been" is brilliant. I took plenty of pics aswell.
I would like to have been round the other HST sheds. Dunno why, 'spose to say I've been round more of the depot.
In theory, my next tour will be of Crewe

I thought it was superb - well worth a visit. I would have liked to have been able to go inside and sample the ambience of EMT's refurbished HST - but I can see why they wouldn't want a load of people tramping around it before the unveiling
