I wonder which unit "identifiers" (last three digits of a unit number - without the class number) have never been used in the TOPS system for any class, even temporarily, even if now renumbered. For example, 678 would not qualify as it would have been used by Class 101, and 962 would not qualify either as Class 158 has a unit numbered with it, albeit just temporarily for now.
My interests are confined to within the 000-299, 400-699, and 900-999 ranges.
Off the top of my head, the following are already covered and therefore not eligible:
Did the 142s get renumbered into the 500 series at one stage? If so, how many did?
Any help appreciated. Did I miss anything? I am not good with first generation units so I am sure there are other numbers that must have been covered.
Similarly which identifiers have never been used by any locomotive (diesel/electric ones only)? (Not restricted to the above given ranges, can be any from 000 to 999.)
