Good afternoon

I have found that by splitting the ticket at Oxford, I can travel at substantially reduced cost between Worcester and London using an off-peak day return (which I don't think is available without this split). On the Virgin Trains ticketing site, and on Tickety Split, it shows me that I can use my Network Railcard both both legs if I catch the 8.15 service from Worcester. Is this correct, even though the Oxford to Paddington leg of the journey departs before 10am (there is an easement that covers the 8.15 from Worcester)? In other words, on a split ticket journey with a Network Railcard, does an easement like this apply to the journey, rather than to the relevant leg?

Thanks in advance for your help!

There is an easement also for the 09:32 Oxford-Paddington, which happens to be the 08:15 from Worcester. The easements apply to the specific legs of the journey separately, but it just happens that this one is covered both ways.

(Easements from Oxford allowing both the 09:32 and 09:59 departures towards London.)

There's an easement allowing Network Railcard discounted tickets to be used on the 0815 from Shrub Hill, which also extends to that same train from Oxford.

Are there any Network Railcard time easements on Island Line, or can you only leave Shanklin (or any other Island Line station) at or after 10.00 with a Network Railcard discounted ticket to or from the mainland?

And if the 10.00 time restriction applies, does this mean that if you have a Network Railcard discounted ticket from Ryde Pier Head to any station on the mainland you can only use it on a ferry that leaves Ryde at or after 10.00?

What's the logic behind what is on this easement list? I understand 'trains that leave just before 1000, especially when the next train isn't for an hour or more', which covers a number of them, but eg. why is the 0932 Oxford to Paddington on here (compared to say the 0937 Cambridge to Kings Cross, which isn't?).

Is there an equivalent list of Gold Card easements? Else eg. you'd be able to get the 0925 Exeter St. Davids to Waterloo with a Network Card but not a Gold Card, which seems a bit odd.

I think the original rule of thumb was to allow arrival at the London terminal by about 1200. But the Oxford one seems to contradict that…
