Network Railcard Minimum Fare and BZ tickets

Just bought a Boundary Zone 6 to Reading ticket with NSE and was surprised that the £13 was not applied, the ticket clerk seemed sure it was correct. Does it not apply to these?

What was the ticket type? Some of the newer SWT/SWR Super Off-Peak ticket types don't have the minimum fare set up correctly in the fares database.

That's just a normal CDR ticket; all correct in the fares database. I wonder does the fact that it must be sold without an itinerary (because there is no origin station to start it) confuse either the clerk or the ticket issuing system.

No, discounted from 12.20 to 8.something.

Could be that. I wasn’t challenged, and it worked the barrier at Reading.

Are Boundary Zones fares actually supposed to be subject to minimum fares? They are not regular single/return fares in a sense, but more an "extension" or "excess" fare to be used in conjunction with something which is itself already subject to a minimum fare requirement.

Sounds like the customer would be double-penalised to me if so.

If you travelled at the weekend, there is no minimum Network Railcard fare - the £13 minimum only applies Monday-Friday.
