Hi
Sorry if this has been asked before, but if a train which was due to leave a station before 10am and is running late, can I use my Network railcard on that service if it departs at 10am or later? It‘s not an easement service.

Many thanks

Condition 4.2 states (my bold)

4.2. Network Railcard discounts apply for travel at or after 10.00 Monday to Friday (excluding Public Holidays) and any time on weekends.  Discounts apply to services in the Network Railcard area only (see network-railcard.co.uk/map).

So I’d say yes to a late running train. Wait for others though to see if there’s a consensus

I would concur with @bakerstreet.

Some time restrictions refer to the time that a train is scheduled to depart (or arrive). Others, as with the Network Railcard restriction here, make no reference to scheduled timings. In the absence of any such reference, it must be the actual time that matters.

If a pre-10am train is running late and leaves after 10am, you are in fact only travelling after 10am - so you are complying with the restriction in the Railcard terms.

If a train due to leave at 10.00 leaves early ( it does sometimes happen either by error or for operational reasons), would the ticket therefore be invalid?

I'd say no. You board it expecting it to leave at 10am. If it happens to leave early there is nothing you can do, so you can't realistically be penalised.
