There is already 4 buses an hour from Eridge-Tunbridge Wells. No. 29 every half hour. Nos. 228 and 229 each run hourly from Crowborough- TW.

.. SouthEastern Trains do not connect with their own trains. so there is no chance they will connect with buses. :p

Do the 228 and 229 actually count as buses?!

In the evenings quite often the 228 or 229 leave Crowborough just as potential passengers cross the footbridge having got off the train at Platform 2. No doubt the service will soon be canned as there is no demand. Whereas there might be demnd if the connection was guaranteed

I really do think that the Eridge/Tunbridge Wells idea is a non-starter project, too many hurdles. The bus services that are provided are perfectly adequte between Eridge and Tunbridge Wells (from own experience).

Some have mentioned about connecting bus and rail services, well does anyone know what happened to this bus service Connex used to run between Lewes and Uckfield?

Same as happenned to all those replacement bus services started by Dr Beeching.

There are still some examples of buses running "branch line" services, however as they are buses they are not very well used and although they are timetabled to connect with the trains if there is a delay (bus or train) then they will miss it. This is often made worse by there not being extra services at times other than those that meet the trains.

I used to often pass the empty bus on my way home from portsmouth, I think the most passengers I ever saw was 3.
I'm not surprised it was dropped.

Well surely its effectively the 29 which runs between Tunbridge Wells and Brighton via Uckfield and Lewes.
