Network Rail Staff Railcard Query

Hi all,

I haven't used my network rail pass to book a train in over a year but I am looking to book travel down to Sheffield from Edinburgh on Saturday 11th April.

Having logged onto railstaff travel, selecting 2 adults with 2 'priv discounts' I am still getting quotes in excess of £80.

Is this right? I recall going to London for £35 return with discount only last year!

Do you get discounts on rover tickets? It won't save much money, if any, but there is a Freedom of the North East four in eight day rover for about £33 (valid from Berwick/Carlisle - so tickets to/from whichever also required).

This may give greater flexibility if required.

You can buy the rover ticket on line with the RST Online Leisure card via the website with a sizable discount but it can only be dated a minimum of 7 days from the date of purchase as you have to give 7 days for it to be posted to you and no other collection options are available.
