I've signed my formal offer for an operatives role on work delivery . Last week I was sent for another colour blindness test in and was told I'm fit for level 3 duties only . The recruitment team have now told me that my job offer is now up for review .

My question is . Would this have an impact on the track maintenance role ?

Any feedback would be greatly appreciated

In short yes.

Eyes must be A1 if ever working safety critical duties or trackside work.

You need to see the obvious things from distance, approaching trains, signals, lookouts flags etc.

I do believe it will put a restriction on your PTS card.You can work in the railway with being diagnosed with colour blindness but you won’t be able to carry out any safety critical roles.For eg you will be able to become a track man but won’t be able to become a look out or hand sig etc.

At the interview the hiring manager took a photo of my sentinel card which has the blue circle on .

Could it be possible my offer could get revoked now ?
