Last November I applied for a job on Network Rails site for a Relief Crossing Keeper. I passed the initial online test and application stage and had been waiting to get the inevitable application unsuccessful email ( I have applied to Network Rail a few times now ). Anyway, last week I still hadn't heard anything so I thought I'd login to my jobs page on the Network Rail site, and I saw that under the Status menu, the message had changed to Invite to Assessment 2 pending. I assume this means an interview but I still haven't received an email or letter to confirm anything, then when I checked the job list on my profile again this morning, I noticed the job had completely disappeared from my list?! Has anyone had this before?

Invite to assessment 2 pending is an interview yes - why it’s gone off your list I don’t know, it’s been a long time since I was last on my list.
Best bet is try and call recruitment, I may well just be a IT glitch.

Hi. Have you had your interview yet? Think I've applied for the same job. I went from under consideration for assessment 2 to just under consideration last week. So looks like its no good for me. Good luck.

Hi, my interview is tomorrow. Very nervous I must say! Been trying to research as much as I can whilst doing everything else I have to do at home and work and it's very tiring, nothing seems to be sinking in. Maybe they'll interview more if the ones they interview tomorrow along with me are no good?! This must be about the tenth time I've tried for Network Rail and the first time I've got to an interview so don't give up.

STAR technique type them up and learn them for the 8 NTS, use your best solid examples (visualise them and play it through).

Learn the Network Rail safety vision, life saving rules, do some research on the location how busy it is, what traffic passes through, what boxes are either side.

Hi, it wasn't too bad. I think I did ok, they've said I'll find out either way by the end of the week. The replies in other threads on here were correct, you need to look up the Life saving rules and the safety vision and think of examples for the non technical skills. They told me there were 153 applicants!

Hi again. Very strange one. Just checked on the status of my application. It now says application withdrawn. I was expecting it to go to unsuccessful as I haven't been interviewed. So its gone from under consideration for assessment 2 to under consideration now to application withdrawn. Any ideas anyone?

Unlucky mate. You did extremely well to make it to interview and you've got that experience for next time now. I've not got to that stage yet so will be tweaking my CV etc for the next opportunity. The problem is there is not too many off them in our neck of the woods.

Yeah you're right. My brother works for them so he always gives me a heads up for any new jobs that come up, but they're usually just too far away.
