Hi all

I have been invited for an interview following my recent application for Planning Assistant (Access) with Network Rail- the interview is panel and competency based- I just wondered if anyone had any ideas what sort of questions I might expect at the interview?

Many thanks!

Hierarchy of safe access rules, NRs lifesaving rules, also remember to couch your answers in terms of the all the softskills

You will get asked several questions along the lines of "can you give an example.of when....."
Look up the STAR model of interviewing and think of some examples you could use.

You may well be asked what actions you have taken in a safety incident. ( Answering with something relevant which isn't railway related should make an interview panel take notice. I once was given chapter and verse on a man overboard incident from a racing dingy.)

Good luck and try to relax, the interview panel as nervous as well.
