I think it will be fairly basic maths, like GCSE, so wouldn't be too bothered. The maths test at the assessment day wasn't really difficult.

Really? Oh dear... I'd guess that they'll teach us all the same but just at different speeds, like maths sets at school. Don't really know how it works.

All those times I sat in maths saying 'when will I ever need to know this in life'

Its the same as a-level maths, you will be in the same classes, if ypur good at maths or not. they want every one to learn at the same level. So if your good at maths be prepared to be bored in the lessons. i was last year, just had to sit there and wait for others that were not so good to catch up!

I knew I had seen that it was A-Level somewhere, oh well I was good at GCSE maths, hopefully I'm good at this.

yeah its pretty basic, apart from a bit of calculus and trig, mechanical principles is a bit more advanced with stuff like, thermo dynamics and resistant forces etc. but the lecturers help if any one is finding it hard.

Yep, I did :) Now currently relaxing in first class, enjoying a coffee and biscuit, on the train home. The train was delayed due to a signalling failure though, bloomin' Network Rail!

What questions besides the ones they emailed you(your experience of taking responsibility etc) do they ask? Rather nervous for my interview next week and don't know what to expect. Thanks!

I didn't really remember any questions, one I do remember was "explain a procedure you have had to do" I tried answering it really in depth about something I have done in school/college etc... But they was looking for a basic answer really, don't know if it will be the same for you, just make sure you ask plenty of questions :)

Good luck anyway

First thing I did was fill in a medical information form, asking if you have anything wrong with you, medical history etc... Then had to sit in a soundproof booth to do the hearing test, just put on some headphones that play some different frequencies in each ear and you have to press a button when you hear them. Did an eye test, just the basic reading the letters on the wall and a colour blindness test. Had my heart rate and blood pressure checked. Did a breathalyser, like those things you see on Road Wars. Checked my height and weight on a BMI chart. Had to walk in a straight line, heel to toe, stand still with my arms out and eyes closed and squat on the floor to check my balance. Final thing was a urine sample, just peed in a pot and she tested if for diabetes by putting a special strip of paper in it and she also sent some of the urine off for a drugs test.
