NET names

On a recent visit to do the two new lines I noticed that each NET has the name of a local hero:

When did this happen? A trawl through the image galleries seems to suggest it's fairly recent.

From a very early stage, the trams were named after famous local people.

Would suggest that the names arrived about the same time as the original trams. The newer incentro trams weren't named straight away I don't think, and there are still a few that are nameless!

The original Bombardier Incentro fleet were named progressively over the first few months of operation in 2004. The new Alstom Citadis fleet are being named progressively also and will all be named within a few months I'd expect.
