I spent the day travelling on my local preserved line, the KWVR on Saturday, 3 locos doing the roster, 47715 Doing the first round trip diesel hauled service, with 41241 taking over from it, also 75078 was working the other steam roster of the day.

Featuring Aspinall LYR Class 21 0-4-0ST 'Pug' 11243 on driver experience duties, Aspinall L&YR Class 27 0-6-0 52322, Aspinall class 23 0-6-0ST 11456 (The Class 23 0-6-0ST locomotives were initially built in 1876–87 by L&Y locomotive superintendent Barton Wright as a class of 280 0-6-0 tender engines. 230 of these were rebuilt as saddle tanks at Horwich Works by Aspinall between 1891 and 1900. Rebuilt as saddle tank in 1896 11456 was sold to coal industry 1937; owned now by the Lancashire and Yorkshire Railway Trust,
D8069 was doing the diesel roster for the day.

I had an early morning start for a trip to Wilmslow & Crewe to see the 2 Railway Touring Company's 2 rail tours today, Saturday 15th August.

First stop was Wilmslow for the 'The Cumbrian Coast Express' headed by
37706 with 47746 Chris Fudge on the rear, due to Network Rail steam ban there would be no steam loco added at Carnforth/Carlisle

7 Vintage diesels & 1 vintage Electric loco on 3 railtours was on the menu yesterday Saturday 22nd August 2026.

I had a 6am start from Huddersfield to Staly bridge for 37407 Blackpool Tower & 37423 Perseus with 'The Cestrian Bard' at Stalybridge and later at Crewe.
Then onto Crewe for The Blackpool Express and The Cestrian Bard again (above)
86259 Peter Pan Euston to Crewe, then 37699 T'n'T 47812 Crewe to Blackpool
Then the short trip to Chester for SRPS The Thistle & Dragon
D400 brought the tour down from Scotland & D213 Andania was attached at Chester to Llandudno
