Going to Glasgow next week for an assessment and need some help with the using information part.Practice sheet attached.

Q1) From Brook Road (leaving) to Appletree farm(arriving) is 5 minutes (my answer) between each station on all the timetables, but answer is 10 minutes.
Q3) Times from Appletree to Mill Rise is 16 minutes (my anwer but no option) but answer is 5 minute.

Now by the looks of it, the trains leave late but the time distance between each station is the same (barring anymore delays, but no mention of this on paperwork)

This is only part that I don't get, can anyone help with the answers on this one?

Thanks

You are at Brook Road at 17.35. The timetable shows the next train is at 17.45...
Q3) Times from Appletree to Mill Rise is 16 minutes (my anwer but no option) but answer is 5 minute.
You are at Appletree Farm at 17.45. The timetable shows the next train is at 17.50...

This is pretty simple stuff, I would politely suggest you read the question carefully and work out what is the required information as you seem to be looking for something completely different (assuming I'm looking at the right questions).

Don’t overthink it. It’s simple timetable reading.

I think you have misunderstood the questions.

Questions 1&3 are stating you are stood at a particular station waiting for a train, and asking how long until that train arrives.

To work this out, you need to read the timetable horizontally across from the station you are at, and find the time that you are at the station.

In the image, the red dot indicates where you are on the timeline (in between trains).

Question 2 is asking how long the train takes, so again it is a case of reading horizontally from the station you’re at, finding the correct train, and then reading vertically until you reach the destination.

As it says at the top of the practice sheet, read the questions carefully as it is easy to see a timetable and fall into the trap of assuming the question will ask how long the train takes from A to B (although as per Q2, sometimes it does!)

Hope that helps, good luck with your assessments.

D'oh re-read the question again after the above answers and I misread it. I looked at the times on the questions and thought that was the time they departed the station (5 minutes late) and not the time "I" was there.

Is there any other tests that I can practice that are similar to this, so I can get as much practice in as possible?

Cheers guys.

if you go on the OPC website there are practice ones on there, some are free or you can pay more for the full examples
