need some FCC timetabling help

Is there a decent resource for checking timetables? I need to catch a train from Cambridge to King's Cross using FCC this Friday evening (1st July). I know it departs at 20:26, either from Cambridge or from Ely which is slightly further along the line. Could someone with knowledge of timetable resources find out what time this train leaves Cambridge and Ely, and if possible what time it gets into King's Cross.

Oh and if someone has knowledge of the rolling stock, what sort of Multiple unit is this train likely to be? Anything comfortable?

The train leaves Ely at 20:08, Cambridge at 20:28 and arrives into London Kings Cross at 21:32. It will almost certainly be a Class 365, I believe.

I'm travelling to ely the day before (and coming back from cambridge). Would I be allowed to travel from cambridge on a return ticket which actually specifies London to Ely and back? Are there ticket barriers at cambridge?

That is perfectly valid. Whether the barriers will agree is another matter. :roll:

If you are returning the following day just make sure you get the off-peak return ticket and not the cheaper off-peak Day return as the latter is only valid if returning the same day.

the ticket I have been sold to Ely is listed as 'OFF-PEAK R' in the ticket type section of the ticket, so would this be OK for a FCC train leaving KGX at 09:45 on Thursday?

Sorry but I am finding it really difficult to make sense of what you are asking (plus, it'd be best posted in the fares and ticketing section).

I think your question is:

I have an Ely - London Terminals Off Peak return, and would like to know what the restrictions are for the return portion?

Is that correct? If so, my answer (from NFM09) is:

Restriction : 5M
Restriction applies: Monday to
Friday only. No travel
restrictions on other days.

RETURN TRAVEL
By any train scheduled to
depart at or after 0930.

- What your origin station is;
- What your final destination is;
- Whether you hold any railcards/Season tickets/Travelcards already;
- What your time requirements are (ie, earliest/latest you can leave/arrive);

Yes that train is fine. Any train after 0930 is valid.

Actually, it appears you have a London - Ely ticket, and it is your outward journey that you are asking about? Sorry, I misunderstood. However, in this case, the restriction is the same from King's Cross, valid at or after 0930.

Trains aren't considered off-peak or peak it is the tickets that have restrictions. So it is perfectly possible for an off-peak ticket to be valid on a train that leaves its origin at 08:00 depending on the restriction for that ticket. In this case though as yorkie indicates this ticket isn't valid until 09:30.

Because NXEA still run a couple of peak trains London Liverpool Street–Harlow–Cambridge–King's Lynn. They're rather slower though.
