Waiting at NCL at lunchtime for delayed KX service (person/fatality on line at Darlo) and saw this XC set heading south empty. Checked on Realtime to find it as 5Z33. What is at BUN Rsmd and why did it run from NCL? TA

Barton-under-Needwood is another name for Central Rivers depot, home to the Voyager and Super Voyager fleets. The unit you saw was the one that worked the delayed 0703 from Birmingham New Street, which should have run through to Edinburgh but was terminated at Newcastle after arriving 90 minutes late due to the PHBT, with another unit having worked an additional service from Darlington to Edinburgh in its place
