The replacement for the traditional t+ ticket used on Paris transport was introduced a few days ago. The Navigo Easy smartcard costs 2.00 and you can load single, carnet and day tickets onto it. However, given the fares are the same as the paper equivalents and is only valid on the metro at the moment, there appears to be not much incentive to switch right now.
