Those winning projects included the widely discussed rejuvenation of Kings Cross, and the much less discussed, but equally magnificent, and my own local, the Ouseburn Viaduct (on the ECML as it leaves Newcastle towards Northumberland) which won the "Ian Allan Publishing Heritage Railway of the Year Award" and which was recently rennovated painstakingly by Carillion over nearly 3 years - here's a couple of images shortly after the works were completed last March :-

In a ceremony yesterday (Thurs 10th April), a plaque was unveiled to commemorate the award by Ian Allan Publishing for the high standard of restoration of a heritage railway asset. This followed nearly 3 years of work on rennovating the metalwork by Carillion plc working on behalf of Network Rail.
While the work was underway, the massive scaffold structure around the viaduct had been the largest free-standing scaffolding structure in the country.
