National Express West Midlands - nBus validity query

Recently the nBus day ticket has replaced the nxbus day ticket and the new price of a day saver ticket is £4.50, with the following info:

Unlimited adult travel for 1 day on all bus operators that are part of the nBus scheme within the West Midlands zone.

Nxbus operated outside the West Midlands nBus zone (e.g. Lichfield) so is this fare valid or does one need to purchase a separate single from/to the boundary?

Yes it’s still valid, it has the same validity of the previous daysaver on NXWM services operating outside the West Midlands to the likes of Cannock, Lichfield, Leamington and Rugby. However you cannot use the nbus ticket on other operators buses to these destinations.

I've bought my first ticket post increase and there is now:

• nBus logo instead of "national express West Midlands"
• "ONE DAY nBUS" instead of "Daysaver"
• "OUTSIDE OF THE WEST MIDLANDS NOT VALID ON OTHER OPERATORS" which answers the question
• "Prices changed on 3rd July 2022"
• "Prices on the back of this ticket are not correct" (and sure enough they aren't)

Yes, seems NX have scrapped their single-operator tickets. My direct-debit pass is apparently now valid on all operators (I've not tried yet)

According to the page that you linked to in your first post, from 10 July there is a new ticket for outside the nBus area:

Adult NX Day Saver extra ticket​

Tickets for any National Express bus service that travels to, from or between locations outside the nBus zone. These tickets are only valid on National Express bus services.

This is the same price, £4.50, but won't be valid on other operators.

It seems this is the ticket intended for your journey over the boundary to/from Lichfield, however I expect drivers will be as confused as passengers.

Seriously?
I thought bus tickets were meant to be simple compared to rail ones...
Guess the tickets aren't *merging* then.
In that case we have a few days to use the current ticket to its fullest extent (both all operators inside nBus and all places outside nBus on nxbus) before it changes again!
