National Express Paper tickets

I bought a ticket online for a London to Glasgow coach journey next month and i received the ticket through post today . It was just like an email print it .
Just wondering if Boarding Pass style tickets still exist with National Express ?
Scottish Citylink still do them.

A related question: do their vehicles still have bus-style machines to allow them to issue tickets there and then?

Yes, what you received through the post is all you will get. This is your ticket, you are to present it to the driver.

Yes , i used the post option to see if they had tickets rather than a A4 Page . So if i went to Glasgow Buchanan Bus Station and bought a National express ticket there would it be on Ticket Stock?

I know its a silly thing but im just curious

I haven't booked a National Express ticket for a few years, but the last time I made a booking at the travel office in Lincoln bus station I was given a printed ticket which was just an A4 sheet of paper. I actually always preferred the option of getting my ticket sent directly to my phone as an SMS.

Some locations still issue Airline-style tickets, eg. Leicester.

Bus-style onboard ticket machines are present on selected routes. They are not available on all, although I believe all drivers are permitted to sell available seats to last-minute passengers, with tickets issued by hand if there is no ticket machine.

National Express managed outlets issue on Airline Style ticket stock, travel agents will give you A4 print outs just as you'd get as print at home. While Norfolk County Council managed the information outlet at Norwich (Surrey Street) Bus station, they were a National Express Agent. Now National Express manage said kiosk they are issued on Airline style ticket.

Some major National Express-managed coach stations (e.g. Milton Keynes) have electronic ticket selling machines now - I believe that to save time, you cannot buy onboard the coach any more where these exist

The self service ticket machines, issue tickets on thermal receipt paper. Nothing special.

Yes, I've probably got a few somewhere - I used to travel from London to Cambridge in an evening (arriving about 1900) and then back to Hitchin - I'd get a return on the train for an extra 10p but if I was out too late for the 2315 I'd buy on the 0300ish coach (now the rather less useful 0405) - wasn't worth buying in advance in case I had an early night.

When i took the 534 from Glasgow to Newcastle back in March , someone got on at Jedburgh . I noticed she bought a ticket from the driver , it was a thermal paper type like a raffle ticket .No ticket machine on bus nor no office at Bus Stn.

Another time when i used the 592 to London i wrote to down the reference number as i didnt have a printer nor had any time to find a open library . The guy wasnt too happy about this . On megabus they have no bother with a just a ref number .

But then National Express terms say they need the printed ticket whereas Megabus say they're happy with just a note of the number. NX do offer mobile tickets if you know you can't print your ticket.

Yeah i was thinking it was the same as megabus
