National Express free voucher question

I have a voucher code for a free journey on National Express. It says it is valid anywhere on the UK network. Does that mean I can use it to travel to Northern Ireland?

It is possible to book a journey from England to Northern Ireland on the National Express website. The itinerary consists of legs operated by National Express and Ulsterbus.

Was the code sent to you by email? If so, there should be something advising which journeys are valid.

The other option is to book your journey and try the code; if it works, all well and good.

Vouchers, discounts, special offers, Coachcards, student promotions etc etc normally always exclude non-NX services but give the voucher a try as you might have one of a type sent in response to certain complaints or delays which have virtually no such exemptions.

Yes it was sent in response to a complaint. So does that mean in essence I can use it on anything including journeys to Europe?

Probably best to ask NX that question. Northern Ireland is part of the UK so that should be covered. Europe isn’t part of the UK so probably won’t be.

NX does not currently operate any services outside Great Britain.

Tickets to Belfast are via third-party connection (Ulsterbus / Citylink 923). Tickets also sold as agents for the London to Dublin twice-weekly 871 operated by Bus Eireann, not National Express. Services between Dublin city and Dublin Airport branded Dublin Express are subcontracted to Kavanagh by National Express Ireland, a sister company in the group so not, strictly, the same National Express as in GB.
