Upon awaiting the 461 to Atherstone from Finchley Road Station at 1750, the driver drove straight past not stopping, forgetting I was a passenger to board.

Upon phoning National Express they confirmed they would look into it for me. Duly they called back and advised me to travel to London Victoria, where they would put me on the 1st available coach to Birmingham.... It's now 2200 and I'm half way to Birmingham :) with NatEx footing the bill for a taxi to Atherstone.

2 things :

What will happen to the driver, not that i wish anything bad, but a bit of traning would be in order. I know that all NatEx drivers get manifests, no harm in looking.

Should I put in a claim for a refund of original ticket?

At least they didn't deny it, as I've had happen with a local bus company. Bus has gone early or not run and I'm told it had just gone - as I am standing at the stop on a small estate where nothing can slip by!

Having seen Finchley Road many times in the evening rush hour, it is highly likesly that the driver was momentarily distracted and, upon realizing he had missed the stop, could hardly turn around and come back.
I cannot understand why you would be seeking a refund when the company have done everything possible to get you to your destination.

I'm not seeking a full refund to some extent, I'm seeking a partial refund for cost incurred travelling to Victoria from Finchley Road. I didn't have my Oyster on me so had to pay single cash fare of £4.50.

I can understand that the driver may have been distracted, but having a discussion with NatEX staff at Victoria, Drivers are required to stop at pickup points if passenger has booked from stop.

I feel you should be able to claim your extra expenses getting to victoria and that is it. All these delay repay and compensation schemes will mean the fares increasing more to cover the cost to the tocs.
Really annoys me the constant "claim compensation" about everything culture. No doubt this has contributed to the poor economy, as every company who has to pay compensating will charge more for their service to recuperate their losses.
Fair enough claiming back your extra expenses, but when no expenses incurred I don't feel compensation should be claimed.

Initialy you did ask if you should claim refund of original ticket. This is what my above was regarding, answer being no I dont as Nat ex have gone to good lengths to ensure you got.to your destination, probably in more comfort. I'd choose train and taxi any day over coach, call it q free upgrade
