Is it possible to purchase a ticket from the driver on the NatEx Heathrow Airport to Woking service, as opposed to buying one in advance?

Yes. It's possible with all National Express services, however it's a standby basis rather than reserved seating.

Train tickets which include Woking to Heathrow are also valid, i.e you can buy
a ticket from say Portsmouth to Heathrow, change at Woking onto the coach.
I have never known this service to be 100% full, although it must happen occasionally.
