Narrow Gauge models

First off, I do not mean N-Gauge.

What I do mean is has there ever been models produced so I could model narrow gauge lines? Hornby and Bachmann seemingly only cater to the standard gauge modeler, and that's fine for me as I'm interested in modeling that too. The issue is I'm also interested in narrow gauge railways and would like to perhaps one day model a narrow gauge line. This is somewhat inspired by the Isle of Mull Railway's 2-6-2 "Victoria".

Obviously things required would be track, locomotives, rolling stock and signalling.

Bachmann do some fantastic American outline narrow gauge stuff, i believe the gauge is called 0N30, its basically 00 gauge track but narrow gauge stock runs on it, you don't see it modeled very often but it is some really good stuff.

From what I've saw, they're all too...American looking. I know that's what to expect from an American loco obviously, but I was thinking more along the lines of something a bit more traditional looking. Still, nice to know Bachmann do them.

Roco do (or at least used to) to RTR HOe (HO equivalent of 00-9) narrow gauge models, I have seen cases of these been used on British layouts. They're Continental European outline so might not suit everyone but could form a basis for kit-bashing. Or one could model a preserved set up that uses foreign rolling stock.

I wonder would there be a market out there for RTR British outline narrow gauge models, in someways I'm surprised it hasn't been looked at by one of the main manufacturers.

Dont Peco do a narrow gauge version of their OO track? No models I dont think though.

Have you seen The OO9 Society?

You have to use a bit of poetic licence as different lines varied widely in their gauge.
